Because is for the moment you wonder about something — why the sky is blue, whether wet hair gives you a cold, what a word means — and want a straight answer without wading through ten web pages.
What it does
You ask by speaking or typing. Because gives you a short answer in plain words, then a line that begins with Because… — the reason it is true. When many people believe something that is not so, it says so gently: Many people believe… but actually… If you want to check, tap Show sources and it finds three or four pages from reputable publishers.
It is not a chat. It does not keep a conversation going, it does not sell you anything mid-answer, and it does not pretend to know about today's news. It answers, explains, and gets out of the way.
Who it is for
Adults of any age who prefer clarity to cleverness. Many of our first users are over sixty, so the whole app is built around large type, big buttons, a voice that reads answers aloud, and colour schemes for tired eyes. Nothing is hidden behind a gesture.
Because speaks English, Slovak and German today, and answers in the language you ask in. More languages are on the way.
What Because is careful about
- Health, money and the law. When a question touches these, the answer comes with a clear note to talk to a doctor, an advisor or a lawyer for your own case. Because is general knowledge, not professional advice.
- Scams. If a question describes a message, call or offer that looks like fraud, Because says so plainly: do not pay, click or share details.
- Current events. Because does not follow the news. If an answer depends on who holds an office or what something costs today, it tells you to check an official source instead of guessing.
- Being unsure. When the honest answer is "experts disagree" or "it depends", Because says that rather than sounding confident.
Your privacy, in one paragraph
If you create an account we keep your email address and your preferred units and display settings. Nothing else. Your questions stay on your own device and are deleted after five days. We never read your location. Popular questions and their answers are kept for a few days on our server with no name attached, so the next person who asks the same thing gets an instant answer. Who makes it
Because is made by Zoro Solutions LLC, a small company in Gilroy, California, founded by Jan Zeleznak. It started as a tool for family members who wanted quick, honest answers without the noise of the modern web. The answers are generated by Anthropic's Claude models, wrapped in rules we wrote about tone, length, honesty and safety, and checked against a growing library of test questions.
